Jackson Parish, LA : Driver dies in one-vehicle Jackson Parish wreck on Louisiana 4, one mile west of Louisiana 811 on Wednesday, 27th November, 2019

A Jonesboro man died in a single-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning.

Shortly after midnight, troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating the fatal crash on Louisiana 4, one mile west of Louisiana 811.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Dustin Stanford, age 40, was traveling west For reasons still under investigation, Stanford lost control of his vehicle and exited the roadway to the right.The vehicle began to overturn. Stanford, who was not restrained, was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash. Failure to take a few seconds to buckle up can have devastating consequences.

Louisiana law requires every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, to be properly restrained day or night.

A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
