Ozello, FL : Pair charged with trafficking after fleeing from crash on Monday, 6th April, 2020

Two people were arrested Monday afternoon when leading authorities on a pursuit and then running off after crashing their car on Ozello Trail.

Richard Eugene Walizer II, 27, of Brandon and Kialeen Agnew, 35, hometown not available, were arrested about two hours after fleeing into the woods off Ozello Trail near West Sutton Court, Citrus County Sheriff’s officials said.

Both were charged with possession and trafficking in illegal drugs.

Deputies were alerted that Walizer was in Citrus County and spotted his vehicle on U.S. 19. When they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Walizer sped off, starting a short pursuit that deputies canceled for safety reasons, sheriff’s spokeswoman Brittney Carman said.Walizer headed west and was coming back toward U.S. 19 when an undercover deputy saw Walizer’s vehicle and alerted the agency. The undercover officer had turned his vehicle around to follow Walizer when the crash occurred, Carman said.

Both Walize and Agnew fled into the nearby woods and were located after a two-hour search, Carman said. The crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m.

Deputies located in their possession 1.25 pounds of methamphetamine, 12.5 grams of heroin and about $1,800 in cash, she said.
