AUGUSTA, ME : A fatal pedestrian accident on Northern Avenue in Augusta on Saturday, November, 18th 2017

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident on Northern Avenue in Augusta.

Investigators say an 81-year-old man was hit by a car while using the crosswalk Saturday night.

The man was transported to Maine General but later died of his injuries.

The driver was identified as 55-year-old Andrew Bilodeau. Police say Bilodeau is listed as a transient in the Augusta area and was not injured in the crash.

Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

No charges have been filed.
