SUNSET HILLS, MO : Man struck and killed while trying to push stalled pickup on April, Saturday 15th 2017
A man trying to push a stalled pickup truck off of Interstate 270 was struck and killed by a car late Saturday. Another man who was helping push the truck was seriously injured in the crash.
Charles W. Boyd, 59, of the Arnold area, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Robert D. Boyd Jr., 32, of the St. Louis area, was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur.
The two men were trying to push the stalled 1981 GMC Sierra pickup off southbound I-270 near the interchange with Interstate 44 about 11:10 p.m., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. A southbound 2003 Hyundai Sonata struck Charles Boyd, then hit the pickup, which stuck Robert Boyd.
The driver of the Sonata, Kelsey R. White, 23, of High Ridge, was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center with moderate injuries, the highway patrol said.
