New London, MN : Injured bicyclist in New London crash on Tuesday, January 24, 2017
A driver of an electric bike, Brandon Baker, 24, New London, was injured when his bike hit a Chevy pick up around 6:51 a.m. Tuesday at 1st Avenue Northwest and Highway 9 in New London.
According the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of the pick up truck, Larry Anderson, 54, New London, was stopped at the stop sign heading west on 1st Avenue Northeast, when he continued to make the left turn onto Highway 9. Baker, traveling east on 1st Avenue, did not yield for the truck, and hit the truck’s plow.
Baker was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The initial State Patrol report said alcohol was involved regarding Baker.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and New London Ambulance assisted at the scene.
