Reno, NV : Woman arrested on charge of D.U.I after fatal crash with moped on May 20th 2014

Officers from the Reno Police Department responded to Mae Anne & McCarran on a report of an injury accident at about 1:42 a.m.

Upon arrival officers observed the driver of a moped laying unconscious in the roadway. According to initial reports, the driver of the moped was traveling westbound on Mae Anne when he failed to stop for a red light at McCarran. As the moped entered the intersection it was struck by a Dodge truck that was traveling southbound on McCarran.

The driver of the moped was transported to Renown Medical Facility where he succumbed to his injuries. Both alcohol and drugs appear to be factors in this collision. The driver of the Dodge truck has been cooperative during the investigation and has been arrested and booked into the Washoe County Jail on a charge of D.U.I, drugs. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.

This accident is currently being investigated by Detectives from the Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team.
