Las Vegas, NV : Man crossing Vegas street in wheelchair hit by car on Sunday morning, December 25, 2016

Las Vegas police say a man has been hospitalized in critical condition after he was hit by a car while crossing a street in his wheelchair on Christmas morning.

KSNV-TV reports the accident happened around 5 a.m. in a southeast part of the city near Flamingo Road and Maryland Parkway.

Police say the man was crossing about 100 feet outside the crosswalk when he was struck by an SUV. Authorities say they believe the woman driving may have been intoxicated and could face charges.

Police did not release the identities of the man or woman involved.
