TOWN OF ALABAMA, AL : Passenger dies from injuries following crash on Thursday, March 23rd 2017

A Medina man who was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a three-car crash on Thursday died Friday from his injuries, according to State Police.

Purcel E. Buzard, 81, was pronounced dead Friday at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Buzard was one of two people injured in the crash, which took place at 9:35 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Route 77 and Route 63, according to authorities.

The driver of the car in which Buzard was a passenger, Donna L. Wolter, 69, also of Medina, sustained head injuries in the collision, state troopers said.The car she was driving was traveling south on Route 77 when it crashed into a semi tractor-trailer that had turned off Lewiston Road onto Route 77, authorities said.

An investigation of the accident by state troopers determined that Wolter failed to stop at the stop sign and went underneath the trailer of the semi, which sheered the roof off the vehicle she was driving.
