Two-car crash that killed a woman in Oregan

Authorities are investigating a two-car crash that killed a woman and injured five others in Independence.

At about 4:55 p.m. Thursday, a Dodge Durango driving northbound on Stryker Road crashed into the driver's side of a car that was pulling out of a parking lot near Stinson Street.

The driver of the car pulling out of the parking lot, an 18-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her car's passengers were a woman who received minor injures and an 8-year-old boy who was critically injured. Both were transferred to Salem Hospital.

The Dodge's driver receive non-life threatening injures, and she was taken to Salem Hospital. The Dodge's passengers, two boys, received minor injures and were taken to the hospital.

Independence Police Department is investigating the crash with the assistance of Oregon State Police.

The identities of the victims were not released.
