Clare,MI : Drunken driver crashes into own house after test drive in Clare County on November, Monday 20th 2017
A 38-year-old Clare County man who was test driving his car after repairing it was arrested when he crashed into his own home early Monday morning.
Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis later in the day charged David Wesley Wright with third offense drunken driving following the crash into his house on Oak Flats Road in Hayes Township at roughly 1:30 a.m.
Magistrate Steven Worpell of the 80th District Court in Harrison arraigned Wright and ordered him to remain jailed in lieu of 10 percent of a $10,000 bond, Clare County Sheriff’s Lt. Edward Williams said.
A sheriff’s sergeant went to the scene after Clare County Central Dispatch got a call about a suspicious situation involving a vehicle.
Police allege that Wright had driven his 2000 Dodge Durango into his house after completing a repair and taking it for a test drive, Williams said.
When he was arrested, his blood-alcohol content was three times the legal limit, Williams said.
Neither Wright nor anyone else was injured in the crash, according to Williams.
