Barnesville, GA : Metro Atlanta man killed in hit and run while changing tire on I-75 Lamar County on Monday afternoon, July 14, 2014

Georgia state troopers say a metro Atlanta man was killed in a hit and run crash on a stretch of I-75 in Lamar County.

Authorities said in a release that 53-year-old Brian Edward Durst of Alpharetta was changing a tire on his vehicle when he was hit by a passing utility trailer Monday afternoon northwest of Macon.

Authorities say Durst was in the emergency lane when the crash happened and troopers are asking anyone with information on the vehicle, the trailer or the driver to call Georgia State Patrol.

A detailed description of the truck and trailer that hit Durst wasn't immediately available.
