Winter Park, FL : Publix semi crash causes fuel spill on Interstate 4 early Saturday morning on October 4, 2014
A crash on Interstate 4 in Winter Park early Saturday morning led to a big traffic jam.
The crash happened at Fairbanks Avenue and closed all westbound lanes for several hours.
Investigators said Christopher Floyd, 36, of Lakeland, was driving a big rig for Publix Supermarkets when he said some cars in front of him on I-4 changed lanes and caused him to lose control.
Officials said Floyd struck a center guardrail and jackknifed, spilling fuel onto the highway.
Traffic was backed up to Maitland Boulevard and was diverted at Lee Road while the scene was cleared.
The highway reopened at 9 a.m.
Floyd was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions because of the wet highway.
