VIRGINIA, MN : Motorcyclist Injured In Crash on Saturday, August 19, 2017
A 2004 Harley Davidson crossed lanes and sideswiped two vehicles at 3:42 p.m. Saturday on Highway 53 at Second Avenue in Virginia.
The Harley Davidson was being driven southbound on Highway 53 by Michael Blake, 64, of Duluth, when he crossed into the northbound lane and sideswiped a 2017 Jeep Wrangler and a 2013 Toyota Sienna, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
Blake was transported to Essentia Health Virginia for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He wasn’t wearing a helmet.
The Jeep was driven by Cheryl D. Walters, 56, of Side Lake. No airbag was deployed.
Walters and her passenger, Lorna D. Elhardt, 81, of Side Lake, were both wearing seatbelts. Neither were injured.
The Toyota was driven by Chris W. Hagberg, 64, of Aurora. An airbag deployed.
Neither Hagberg nor his passengers: Loren B. Fishman, 32, of Northfield, Minn., Megan E. Fishman, 31, of Northfield, Minn., a 4-year-old male of Aurora, Jeanene L. Hagberg, 60, Aurora, and Petra J. Hagberg, 26, of Aurora, were injured. All parties were wearing seatbelts.
Road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.
Alcohol was not involved, according to the report.
