Louisville, KY : LMPD officer injured in car crash on Lutz and Woodruff Avenue on Saturday night, February 14, 2015
A Louisville Metro Police officer was injured Saturday night after attempting to pull over a car.
The accident was reported to MetroSafe around 9:40 p.m.
According to LMPD, preliminary details show an officer attempted to stop a Kia, when the driver's car sped away.
After a search for the car resumed, officials say a short time later the driver came out of an alley between Lutz and Woodruff Avenue. It was at this time, that the Kia was struck by another police vehicle on Carlisle Avenue.
The officer in that vehicle was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and two passengers of the Kia were also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The LMPD Traffic Unit is continuing its investigation.
