Cranbury, NJ : Maryland woman killed in Turnpike crash on Sunday, August 7, 2016
A 30-year-old Maryland woman died Sunday after she apparently lost control of her vehicle while driving on the New Jersey Turnpike and it ran off the road struck a guardrail and overturn, ejecting her from her vehicle.
State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn said Quincy Ross of Upper Marlboro, Maryland was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:21 p.m. Sunday.
According to Flynn, around 6:49 p.m. Sunday Ross was traveling a GMC Yukon in the right lane, south on the New Jersey Turnpike near milepost 72.7 in Cranbury when she apparently lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road to the left, struck a guardrail and overturned, ejecting her from the vehicle.
Her passenger Alisa Green, 49, of Laurel, Maryland, was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with moderate injuries, Flynn said.
The cause of the one vehicle crash is under investigation, Flynn said.
