Sacramento, CA : A man who died in a motorcycle accident in Squaw Valley on Sunday, May 28, 2017

A man who died in a motorcycle accident in Squaw Valley has been identified as William Rouse, 56, of Tulare.

About 12:06 p.m. Sunday, Rouse was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Highway 180, west of Elmwood Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said.

A 2013 Honda being driven by R. L. Avery, 37, of Squaw Valley, was traveling south on private property just north of the highway, the CHP said. The Honda had just left a convenience store and began making a left turn onto eastbound Highway 180.

Rouse saw the car entering the highway in front of him and applied the brakes but hit the car and was thrown onto the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Avery was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
