Memphis , TN : 31 - Years old Pedestrian was Hi and Killed while walking along Highway 385 on Late Monday Evening , January 12th 2015

A man was killed while walking along Highway 385 and Hacks Cross Road late Monday night.

Shelby County deputies say around 10 p.m. a driver exiting Highway 385 hit a 31-year-old man who was walking along the street. That part of the highway is very dark, and investigators say the driver didn't see the pedestrian until it was too late.

Jessie James Baum has been identified as the pedestrian.

The driver remained on scene as first responders arrived. Shelby County deputies say the driver will not be charged with any crime.
