Richmond,CA : Pickup truck driver struck and killed by Amtrak train in Richmond on August, Saturday 26th 2017

The driver of a pickup truck stopped on railroad tracks was killed in Rodeo Saturday morning after an Amtrak train collided with the vehicle, officials said.
Capital Corridor Train 720, operating between Oakland and Sacramento, struck the truck around 9 a.m. at San Pablo Avenue and California Street, about 11 miles east of the Richmond train station, said Vernae Graham, an Amtrak spokeswoman.
It was not clear what the truck was doing on the tracks. The driver’s name was not released. The 64 passengers aboard the train and the crew were not injured.
Six trains were stopped on both sides of the track immediately after the crash, Graham said. One track reopened about 9:45 a.m. to allow trains to go through at restricted speeds. All tracks opened by 10:50 a.m.
The affected passengers were transferred onto Train 724 to continue their trip, Graham said.
