Three Semi Truck Drivers Die in Multiple CollisionNear Bakerfield California

A series of three semi truck collisions that killed all three drivers happened on Monday, Nov. 5., on Interstate 5 in Kern County, halting northbound traffic on the I-5 for nearly 11 hours.The accident occurred at about 10:11 p.m. Monday on the Interstate near Highway 43, west of Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol reported that a semi heading south on I-5 reportedly crossed over the dirt median into the opposite side’s freeway traffic. The southbound truck reportedly collided head-on with a truck heading north, and a second northbound truck crashed into the side of the truck that drifted out of the southbound lanes.
According to the CHP, the collisions touched off fires in all three semi trucks.

As of Tuesday, the identity of the drivers killed were not disclosed.Traffic on the interchange was re-opened shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday.The incident remains under investigation at this time.
