A Jessup man was killed Saturday after he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail in Howard County.
About 1:30 p.m. Saturday, John Edward Barrass, 67, was traveling east on Mission Road near Concord Drive in Jessup. Barrass was thrown from his 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he crashed into the guardrail.
A prelimary investigation by police found that speed and driver error contibuted to the crash. The road was closed for about three hours Saturday as police investigated the scene.
