Hamilton County, OH : Driver cited in crash that closed NB I-71 on Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015

A semi truck crashed into a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy's vehicle Tuesday morning, shutting down northbound Interstate 71 for about three hours during rush-hour.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was going too fast for the slick road conditions, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. No one was injured in the crash.

Up to 3.5 inches of snow were recorded in Warren County, but the most in Hamilton County was 1 inch, according to the National Weather Service. The crash in Symmes Township happened near the border of Hamilton and Warren counties.

Even that amount of snow snarled Tuesday's morning commute throughout the region. There were at least three other crashes involving a tractor-trailer, and one other involving a state or county vehicle.
