Carson, CA : Torrance man, 23, dies in solo crash on 405 in Carson on Saturday, September 13, 2014

A 23-year-old man was killed in an early-morning single vehicle crash on a freeway transition ramp in Carson on Saturday. Douglass Villalta Jr., a resident of nearby Torrance, was driving a sedan south on the San Diego (405) Freeway. He attempted to make the transition to the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway, and his car struck a tree, according to a freelance videographer at the scene. California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Bishop said the accident was reported around 2:15 a.m. Villalta’s name was released at midmorning by Lt.
