CHESTERFIELD, VA : 2 dead, 1 hurt after Chesterfield overnight crash on Thursday, 29th February 2024

Devastation struck a Chesterfield community on Friday as two children died in a crash.

“The vehicle ended up leaving the roadway and traveled about 400 feet before striking a tree,” said Captain P.J. Cimbal from Chesterfield County Police Department.

The crash happened on Old Wrexham Road early Friday morning, killing two young sisters, 5-year-old Ava Turner, and 9-year-old Ivey Birch.

One of them ejected on impact police said; the sole survivor was the man driving the car.
