HOUSTON COUNTY, TX : Two dead in crash near Crockett on Monday, November, 27th 2017

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash that killed two women on Monday afternoon on US 287, about a mile north of Crockett.

Preliminary investigations show a 2001 Dodge pickup failed to yield the right-of-way from a private driveway at about 4:20 p.m., moving into the path of a 2016 Dodge pickup, traveling north on US 287.

The driver of the 2001 Dodge, Patricia Ross, 61, of Crockett, and a 72-year-old female passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene at 4:45 p.m., by Houston County Justice of the Peace Clyde Black.

The identity of the passenger is not immediately available, pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the 2016 Dodge, Timothy Frazier, 39, of Elkhart, was reportedly treated at the scene and released.
