Methuen, MA : 6-year-old ejected from car, killed during 2-vehicle crash in Massachusetts on Tuesday, July 19, 2016
A 6-year-old boy has died after he was ejected from his mother’s car during a two-vehicle crash in Massachusetts.
Methuen police Chief Joseph Solomon says the boy was thrown from the car during a collision with a commercial van at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Solomon says a preliminary investigation indicates the boy’s mother ran a stop sign and was struck broadside by the van. He says the child was apparently run over by the van after he was ejected.
Police are investigating whether the boy was properly restrained in a child’s car seat.
The 34-year-old Methuen woman was taken to a hospital for emotional trauma and injuries not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the van was unhurt and is cooperating.
No names were released and no charges have been filed.
