Lee woman dies in four-car crash on Route 125
A Lee woman died and two others were hurt in a four-vehicle accident Friday night on Route 125.
Epping police identified the victim as Mary Smith, 48, of Lee.
The crash happened at about 7:20 p.m. when Smith’s 1996 Saab crossed the centerline while traveling north on Route 125. Two cars in the Saab’s path of travel avoided being hit, but the car collided with three others.
Its left side hit the left sides of both a 2006 Dodge Caravan and a 1996 Honda Accord. The Saab then collided head-on with a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan traveling south.
The Tiguan was driven by Jennifer Silvestro of Barrington.
Epping Ambulance took Silvestro and passenger, John Silvestro of Citrus Springs, Fla., to Exeter Hospital after the accident.
An update on their medical condition was not immediately clear Saturday night.
Route 125 was closed from approximately 7:20 p.m. to 10:40 p.m. Friday as police and fire personnel from Lee, Fremont, and Epping worked on the scene. N.H. State Police assisted on scene as well.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
