Cheswold, DE : 26-year-old Dover man died in a single-car crash west of Cheswold on Friday, January 2, 2015

Delaware State Police say alcohol and speed may be factors in a crash that killed a 26-year-old Dover man.

Police say Luis Burgos-Osorio was driving on Brenford Road in Cheswold when he crossed the center line on a curve, overcorrected and ran off the roadway. They say his car hit a tree on the driver’s side door, rotated clockwise and then hit a telephone pole before coming to rest in the center of the road.

Burgos-Osorio was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was properly restrained and was the only person in the car.

Police said speed and alcohol are suspected as factors in the crash.
