A 19-year-old Billings man died Sunday morning after crashing his motorcycle in the Billings Heights.
At about 1:20 a.m. Billings Police responded to the intersection of Alkali Creek Road and Aronson Avenue after receiving reports of the crash. Officers determined the crash involved one motorcycle and one rider, said BPD a news release.
Sgt. Shane Winden said the man was riding a sport bike on Alkali Creek Road when he hit a curb on the south side of the street. He was sent across the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a guardrail. The motorcycle's fuel tank ruptured, and a fire started. The rider was burned and pronounced dead on scene.
Winden said the wreck remains under investigation, but alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
