PIERCE COUNTY, WA : 1 dead in crash at north of 8th Avenue East on SR 7 on Friday, 28th August, 2020

A motorcyclist died Friday afternoon in a crash on State Route 7 in Spanaway, a Washington State Patrol officer said.
The crash happened after 2 p.m. north of 8th Avenue East on SR 7.
Troopers said the motorcyclist was headed north on the highway when a van going southbound turned left into a parking lot, colliding with the motorcyclist.The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van was not injured.
The crash caused the northbound lanes to be blocked for three hours, a trooper said.
The crash is under investigation.
