Arley, AL : Former wife of late sheriff McBride dies in a two-vehicle crash in Winston County on Thursday, May 26, 2016

A Decatur woman who was formerly married to the late Morgan County Sheriff John McBride was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday in Winston County.

Troopers said Louann Jennings Speegle, 69, died in the two-vehicle crash that occurred at 12:50 p.m. on Winston County 41, three miles north of Arley..

She and McBride operated McBride's Florist on Sixth Avenue, a business that began in 1975. McBride died in 2009. She later married John Riley Speegle, who died in 2014.

Troopers spokesman Johnathan Appling said the 2012 Toyota Tacoma that Louann Speegle was driving collided with a 2014 Isuzu truck driven by Tyler Jacob Pitzing, 26, of Cullman. Speegle was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where she died at 4:47 p.m. Pitzing was also injured and transported to UAB Hospital.

No further details were available. Troopers are investigating the crash.
