Sacramento ,CA : 15-Years old killed after Three Car Crash along Capital City Freeway on Sunday,April 19 2015
A three-car crash killed a 15-year-old girl Sunday on the Capital City Freeway in Sacramento, police said.
About 3:50 p.m., the driver of a Ford F-150 rear-ended a Ford Focus, pushing the car into the back of a big rig, according to the South Sacramento California Highway Patrol.
The teenage victim was sitting in the backseat of the Ford Focus at the time. Her parents were up front, and they were hospitalized too, but they're expected to survive, police said.
The big rig driver wasn't hurt.
The driver of the F-150 was taken to a hospital, but that person's condition hasn't been released.
Officers don't believe drugs or alcohol factored into the wreck. Police continue to look into the circumstances.
Three northbound lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours due to the crash.
