Chula Vista, CA : Driver died after car veers off Chula Vista Freeway on early Monday morning, August 4, 2014

Police are investigating how long a man was dead in his car before it was found on the shoulder of Interstate 5 in Chula Vista early Monday morning. The 2007 Ford Fusion was discovered down a small 10-foot embankment at 1085 Bay Blvd., off I-5 southbound, sometime before 1:45 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol (CHP). The vehicle had gone down the slope and crashed into a tree. The car was discovered by a security guard. The victim was dead behind the wheel by the time paramedics arrived. He was identified as 29-year-old David Antonio Sanchez of San Diego. CHP reports officers were unsure how long the wreckage had been there because the engine was cold by the time they arrived. “It was cold, so it tells me that it was sitting there for a little while, unfortunately,” CHP Sgt. Brad Denham said. An autopsy is pending and officers are investigating. Source : Driver found dead in car in Chula Vista
