Holland,MI : One person flown to hospital after serious-injury crash in Holland on October, Wednesday 18th 2017

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office identifies the man who was injured in a two-vehicle accident this afternoon in Holland Township as Ellie Gamez, 21, of Holland. Police say he was flown to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital by Aero-Med after being pulled from his vehicle, and is in critical condition.

The crash occurred on West Lakewood Boulevard at Aniline Avenue, around 3:45 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office says the other (cement truck) driver was not injured (Thomas Morren, 49, of Zeeland).

Police are still investigating, but say it appears Gamez had stopped at the intersection for a light, and then pulled into the intersection before being hit.

The Holland Township Fire Department and Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Unit assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
