PORTLAND TWP, MI : Man injured in rollover crash on eastbound I-96 near Cutler Road on Friday, 9th August 2019

One male driver was hospitalized Thursday night after a single-car rollover crash on I-96 in Portland Township.

The Ionia County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched 5:40 p.m. Aug. 8 to a report of a crash on eastbound I-96 near Cutler Road.

The investigation showed that the driver of a black Toyota 4-Runner lost control of his vehicle after hitting the rumble strips and rolled several times.

Police did not identify the driver, who was transported by ambulance to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be a factor at this time, police said.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Portland Fire Department, Portland Ambulance and Reed and Hoppes.
