DIXON, CA : Dixon man dies in single-car crash over holiday weekend on Sunday, 6th September, 2020

A 26-year-old Dixon man died Sunday after a single-vehicle crash on Pedrick Road near Maine Prairie Road, the California Highway Patrol reports.

The Solano County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office identified him as Jose Villegas Garcia.Impaired driving is being investigated as the cause of this collision, the CHP said in a statement released Tuesday.

The CHP reported that the driver of the blue Honda Accord was southbound on Pedrick Road. He failed to stop at the stop sign at Maine Prairie Road, traveled through the intersection, over the dirt shoulder and into the canal.

The driver was the lone occupant of the car. He was declared dead at the scene.
