Bradenton, FL : A Bradenton motorcyclist died after being stuck by pickup truck at 63rd Avenue East On Friday,14th October, 2016

A Bradenton motorcyclist died Friday afternoon when he was run over by a pickup truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Dead is Nicholas F. Calabro, 21, of Bradenton.

According to reports, Calabro was westbound in the left lane of 63rd Avenue East, near the intersection with 13th Street Court East. At the same time, Kenneth D. Amell, 51, of Bradenton was westbound in the right lane in his

Dodge pickup truck. Amell reportedly moved into the left lane, missing Calabro but causing the motorcyclist to swerve to avoid a collision.

Calabro then accelerated to pull even with Amell, and in doing so struck a raised concrete median. Calabro was thrown from his motorcycle, into the path of Amell's truck, and was run over.

Calabro was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries. Amell was not injured in the accident.

The FHP is investigating the accident.
