HUME, MO ; 20-year-old dies at scene of UTV crash in rural Bates County on Saturday, 3rd August 2024

On Saturday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatal UTV crash in Bates County.

The crash happened at 6:25 p.m. on County Road 13007, just north of Hume, Missouri.

According to MSHP, 20-year-olds Logan Brooks and Braydon Cannon were riding in a 2023 Polaris UTV when Cannon, the driver, veered off the left side of the road and hit a fence.

Cannon was ejected from the UTV and died at the scene. Brooks was reportedly uninjured and refused treatment.
