GILBERT, SC : Two men have died when their vehicle crash on Thursday, December, 21st 2017

Two men have died when their vehicle crashed into a tractor trailer rig in South Carolina.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office said the crash happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday just off Interstate 20 near Gilbert.

Coroner Margaret Fisher said in a news release that 27-year-old Carlis Epting of Batesburg-Leesville died at the scene. Fisher said 23-year-old Harley Epting of Batesburg-Leesville died a short time later at a hospital.

The coroner said the men were driving on a road and crashed into the side of a tractor trailer as it turned left onto the road from I-20.

No other injuries were reported.

The South Carolina Highway patrol is investigating.
