Elizabeth City ,NC : Man arrested after crashing car into police headquarters while fighting with passenger on Monday morning , March 9th 2015

Police in Elizabeth City have arrested a man who they say drove his car into the police headquarters while he was fighting with a passenger.

The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk reports (http://bit.ly/1EM6asg) Capt. John Young of the Elizabeth City Police Department said 24-year-old Tywan Springs was charged with reckless driving.

According to police, an officer had just charged Javon Hopson with resisting arrest following a fight at a bar near the police building.

The officer was walking Hopson to his patrol car when he saw the passenger in a 2001 Mercury Marquis striking the driver. The car collided into the southeast corner of police headquarters. Springs was arrested, but police are still looking for the unidentified passenger.

The crash caused minor damage to the building. No one was injured.
