Truckee ,CA : Passenger killed in single vehicle crash on Thursday night ,July 30th 2015

The California Highway Patrol has reported that a single vehicle crash on Thursday night proved deadly for the vehicle's passenger.

Officials said Friday that emergency personnel responded to the crash at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday.

According to an official statement from CHP, A 1983 Toyota pickup driven by 21-year-old Jacob Young of Citrus Heights, Calif. was traveling eastbound on Meadow Lake Rd. Officials said Young was driving eastbound when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of his vehicle.

The Toyota reportedly left the roadway along the south road edge and ultimately overturned one time before landing back onto its wheels.

CHP said Young had left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency personnel and continued eastbound on Meadow Lake Rd. to find help. Young continued down the road about three miles to obtain cell phone service to call emergency dispatch, CHP said.

When officials arrived on scene, they said they found the passenger of the truck -- 23-year-old Brayton Walters of Fair Oaks, Calif. -- still located in the passenger seat of the vehicle, breathing, and with a weak pulse.

CHP personnel said they immediately began providing aid to Walters. After some time, officials said Walters succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Truckee Fire because of his injuries.
