Concord,CA : One dead in hit-and-run crash on August, Tuesday 29th 2017

The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig-Alert after an apparent hit-and-run collision claimed a person’s life late Tuesday.

At 10:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of the crash in eastbound lanes of Highway 4 just west of the Solano Way off-ramp, CHP Officer Damian Cistaro said.

Officers found evidence of a two-vehicle collision in the highway’s slow lane and a person was pronounced dead at the scene, Cistaro said.

One vehicle involved in the collision was still at the scene, but witnesses who spoke with officers said the other vehicle fled.

Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted with the investigation.
