Man dies in bicycling accident on in Marietta Georgia

Police said a 53-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car while riding along Franklin Road Friday night.Investigators said the man was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk along the northbound lanes of Franklin Road when he lost control and fell, landing partially in the northbound lane of Franklin Road.They said a 1996 Honda Civic, traveling on Franklin Road, could not swerve out of the way of the cyclist in time, and struck him.The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.Marietta Police are continuing their investigation.
