Midland, MI : A driver and passenger are dead after a crash on Friday, September 8, 2017

A driver and passenger are dead after a crash involving a school bus Friday morning in Isabella County, the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The crash occurred at 7:48 a.m. on Weidman Road just west of Whiteville Road. Deputies and first responders were at the scene investigating the crash and working to identify the victims, states a media release sent just after 9 a.m. Friday.
The release states no students were onboard the Mount Pleasant School bus when the crash occurred.
The bus was headed east on Weidman Road and was stopped, preparing to pick up the first student when a car struck the bus from behind. The car slid under the bus, causing both the driver of the car and the front seat passenger to suffer fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
