WICHITA, KS : 2 dead after crash on northbound I-35 near Derby on Monday, 11th November 2024

The Kansas Highway Patrol said two people were killed in the early Monday crash on the Kansas Turnpike.

Two semis were traveling together, the KHP said, when one hit a deer then struck the median barrier.

The other semi pulled off on the shoulder, and a passenger car crashed into the parked semi. Both people inside the car were killed. Both semi drivers were hospitalized.

The KHP said Northbound I-135 should reopen by around 9 a.m.
