Frederick, MD : One person dies in two-car crash near Monrovia on Thursday, 27th October, 2016
One person died after a two-car crash Thursday afternoon on Lynn Burke Road near Monrovia.
The driver of one car, Mount Airy resident Glenn Carter Cox, was killed in the crash, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Two cars collided near Lynn Burke and Weller roads at around 3:10 p.m., according to the news release.
Michelle Monaghan, a Monrovia resident, was going around a curve in the road when she crossed into the opposing lane and struck the other car head-on, according to the release.
Monaghan and a passenger in her 2010 Kia Forte were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to the release.
Cox was driving a 2012 Kia Soul.
Crews from the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services assisted, as well as collision reconstruction experts from the Traffic Unit of the sheriff’s office. The crash is under investigation, according to the news release.
