Fort Wayne, IN : 4 sent to hospital after crash, 1 with life-threatening injuries at the intersection of Coliseum Boulevard East and North Clinton Street on Saturday, 7th December, 2019

A multiple-vehicle crash sent four people to the hospital early this morning, one with life-threatening injuries, Fort Wayne police said.

Shortly before 4 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Coliseum Boulevard East and North Clinton Street and found a truck, an SUV and two cars involved in a crash, police said in a statement.

Four people inside the SUV were taken to a local hospital, the statement said. It said four in the other vehicles complained of pain but refused medical treatment.

Investigators said the truck was going east on Coliseum Boulevard and did not stop at a red light at Clinton Street. The truck collided with the SUV and a car that was going north on Clinton, police said. They said the truck went through the intersection and collided with another car that was going west on Coliseum stopped at the traffic light.

Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the crash, police said. They said investigators are interviewing everyone involved in the crash, along with additional witnesses, and the intersection is closed to traffic while investigators process the scene.
