Auburn, NY : A man from Moravia died after his motorcycle collided on Saturday, July 22, 2017

A man from Moravia died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck Saturday afternoon on state Route 34 and Silver Street in the town of Fleming, according to New York State Police.

Christopher Hilliard, 30, was driving his motorcycle northbound on state Route 34 and the pickup truck, operated by Gregory Fitts, 52, of Rogersville, Tennessee, was driving southbound, making a left turn onto Silver Street when the collision occurred, troopers said in a press release issued Sunday.

Hilliard was taken to Auburn Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Fitts was not injured.

The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation. According to police, preliminary investigation and witness statements have found that speed could be a factor in the accident.
