Beverly, MA : Man faces charges after woman killed in crash in Beverly on Sunday night, May 10, 2015
One person is dead and a second is in critical condition at the hospital after what authorities are calling a drunken driving crash in Beverly.
The Essex district attorney's office says just after 9 p.m. Sunday a Cadillac SUV ran a red light at the intersection of Elliott and Rantoul streets and struck a Ford pickup truck.
A 45-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Cadillac was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. The 48-year-old man driving the pickup truck was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Cadillac, identified by the district attorney's office as 31-year-old Todd Porter, of Beverly, is facing several charges, including drunken driving, motor vehicle homicide and speeding.
He was also hospitalized with leg and back injuries.
