Aiken, SC : One person died three others injured in crash on US Highway 1 in Aiken County on Thursday morning, SEP 3, 2015
An Aiken man was killed and three others injured in a traffic accident Thursday afternoon on US Highway 1 in Aiken County.
Alfred Bush, 34, was driving one of two motorcycles that collided with a car that was making a left turn onto Highway 1 about 1:54 p.m., according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office. A press release said the motorcycles were traveling at an “excessive rate of speed.”
Authorities said Bush was on a 2005 Suzuki ZX10 motorcycle when he hit the 2004 Saturn driven by James Landry of Batesburg, S.C. The other motorcyclist was identified as Robert Newton, who was on a 2004 Kawasaki MCVX 1000. He was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Landry and a passenger in the car, Jerry Eargle of Aiken County, were also taken to Georgia Regents with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Toxicology tests are pending.
