Charlotte, NC : woman critically injured after being hit by a vehicle in south Charlotte early Wednesday morning, December 2, 2015
Charlotte, North Carolina
A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in south Charlotte and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for the driver.
It happened early Wednesday morning around 1 a.m. in the 4400 block of Pineville-Matthews Road near McPherson Drive. That's not far from the Cedarwood Country Club.
When officers arrived on scene they say they found Jeanny Phara Lamartiniere lying in the road unresponsive. She was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. As of Wednesday morning, she was in critical condition in the ICU.
We're told that Lamartiniere was driving in a car with a man when the two got into an argument. She got out of the car and was hit by another car. The driver of that car then took off east on Pineville-Matthews Road.
A male witness on scene described the vehicle as an older model burgundy Nissan two door car with a rear spoiler and dark tinted windows.
Police say debris on the roadway left by the hit-and-run vehicle confirms it was a burgundy Nissan. The Nissan will also be missing its driver’s side mirror and possibly have damage to the front driver’s quarter panel, turn signal, and driver’s door.
The eastbound lanes of Pineville-Matthews Road near McPherson Drive were closed for three hours while police investigated.
